Microsoft Data Centres - Groundbreaking Ceremony

Kapitol Group are delighted to announce that we have officially broken ground with construction underway on two new Melbourne datacentre projects in Yarraville and Truganina for our client Microsoft.

On 5 December Kapitol and Microsoft welcomed local community leaders and our construction partners to ground-breaking ceremonies at both sites, and we were honoured to have the Wurundjeri Traditional Landowners open the events with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony.

The events were attended by members of the local Councils and Invest Victoria, and our partners from AusNet ServicesAurecon, and Turner & Townsend.

Microsoft’s investment in datacentres will help provide the physical infrastructure for the technology we depend on in all facets of our lives. Once complete, they will also support a wide spectrum of crucial services in Australia from the lifesaving work of doctors and first responders to essential services like groceries and online banking. We are beyond thrilled to have been chosen to deliver these imperative new infrastructure projects for the communities in which we live and work.

Microsoft has created community blogs to keep the local communities in Yarraville and Truganina up-to-date with the latest construction news for both projects.
