Water Testing at Yarra Valley Grammar

Water testing is underway at one of our education construction projects - Yarra Valley Grammar Performing Arts & Media Centre.

Water testing is a process that involves simulating heavy rainfall to check if the building’s facade and windows can withstand water exposure without leaks. It is a crucial step in ensuring the structure meets strict waterproofing standards and remains durable long after handover.

"This is a great example of how we water test the facility," said George Cooney, Kapitol Project Manager at the Yarra Valley Grammar Performing Arts & Media Centre project, as he showcases the building's clad facade.

Meanwhile, the window system was still undergoing testing to accurately check for water ingress, plaster had been left off at key points, allowing the team to see any leaks in real time.

"We've left the plaster off the top, side, and bottom so that we can measure and see if there's any ingress due to the water testing on the external facade," George shared.

By conducting these tests before project completion, any issues can be identified and resolved immediately, preventing structural damage, mold growth, and costly repairs in the future.

At Kapitol, we take proactive measures to ensure the buildings we construct are built to last. Through rigorous testing and attention to quality, checklists and systems, we deliver projects that meet the highest standards. Watch the video below to learn more.
