Our first interstate project is officially open – the NEXTDC D1 Darwin Centre! Yesterday marked the grand opening of this state-of-the-art data centre, developed in close partnership with the Northern Territory Government, Vocus, and module build partner Vertiv.
The D1 facility is set to revolutionise digital infrastructure in the region. The ceremony was attended by NT Chief Minister, Hon Eva Lawler, and featured a Welcome to Country by Larrakia Elder, Aunty Jeanneen McLennan.
Chief Minister Lawler said, “NEXTDC’s D1 Darwin marks an exciting milestone for the Territory’s accelerating digital economy, providing numerous local and global organisations with mission-critical infrastructure combined with access to global cloud platforms to drive and implement their digital growth strategies.”
A big thank you to all our key stakeholders for your support and collaboration throughout this project. This achievement is a testament to what we can accomplish together! We extend our thanks to our new business team, who worked tirelessly for 14 months, and to our delivery team, who overcame challenges like a closed highway to complete the build in just 9 months. Your dedication has been outstanding, and together, we’ve delivered a facility that will play a vital role in Darwin’s digital future.
