NAB's Government Education and Community Event

Kapitol Group were pleased to be a part of the NAB's Government Education and Community event yesterday on Mitigating Construction Risk. Kapitol Group Director Andrew Deveson sat on the panel to give builder’s perspective on the topic, along with Gavin Prendergast – Director, Gallagher Jeffs; Hugh Watson - Practice Leader, Moores and Nicole Bradshaw – Business Manager, Westbourne Grammar School.

The general consensus was that collaboration with builders for education projects is critical to ensure project success.

“In order to effectively bring innovation into construction, it is critical for the right builder to be involved with the client and consultant team as early as possible. And the contracting model needs to suit that collaborative approach. That way we can find smarts, inform design, whilst maintaining design integrity, and bring efficiencies to program and cost to provide the best result for the client. That is what we are doing with Yarra Valley Grammar and what we have done with Mentone Grammar and it works.”
– Andrew Deveson
