About Kapitol’s

Graduate Program

Our graduate program is a three-year program which provides graduates with a variety of opportunities to learn about and develop skills across all facets of construction and diverse projects. Our program is underpinned by a Graduate Competency Matrix which outlines the core competencies covered during our graduate program including:

  • OH&S
  • Quality
  • Design
  • Contract Administration
  • Site Supervision & IR
  • Planning and Presenting

All our graduates are supported by an experienced, dedicated Project Manager, and our onsite team. Kapitol’s Construction Manager and People and Culture Team also play a hands-on role in ensuring our graduates are fully supported and have the best possible experience.

A unique feature about Kapitol’s graduate program is its three-year duration. The longer duration program provides our graduates with the opportunity to develop a larger base of knowledge which in turn allows for greater growth and an easier transition to more senior roles.

Our graduate program also offers access to:

  • Kapitol’s Mentoring Program
  • A 10 in 14 day work cycle for site based teams
  • Monthly technical and soft skill training forums
  • Opportunity to work across our diverse range of projects

To be eligible for our graduate program, you must be in your final year of a relevant course (i.e. Bachelor of Construction Management, Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management), Bachelor of Design & Construction Management or equivalent degree) and on track to graduate by the end of 2021 for an early 2022 commencement (intake 1) or end of semester 1 2022 for mid-2022 commencement (intake 2).

Once you have submitted your application, the recruitment process will run as follows:

  • Resume shortlisting conducted
  • Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to a phone interview with a member of our People & Culture team
  • Group Interview (on one of our job sites where possible) with a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager and/or our Construction Manager
  • Final interview with a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager and/or our Construction Manager

Our graduate program has two intakes per year:

Intake 1

  • Applications open Friday 15 October 2021 and close Friday 12 November 2021
  • Program begins January 2022 with the potential to start early on a casual basis prior to full time commencement

Intake 2

  • Program beings July 2022 with the potential to start early on a casual basis prior to full time commencement

Construction Graduate Program

“It’s motivating and exciting to be part of such a fast-growing company that has a strong focus on investing in the skills of its people and the culture. I’ve always felt supported, valued, and challenged during my time at here and would highly recommend applying to Kapitol’s graduate program.”

Alex McRae (Kapitol Graduate)

Construction Graduate Program

“Coming across to Kapitol from a large construction company, I have seen programs that pigeonhole graduates in a single role without being able to expand on their skill set. I wanted the opportunity to develop my skills across all parts of the industry and still be able to work alongside people with tier 1 experience. This is something that Kapitol Group have been able to offer in spades.”

Andrew Broadstock (Kapitol Graduate)
