Located at the front of NEXTDC's M2 Data Centre facility, the Innovation Tower is an impressive commercial space which encompasses Mission Critical Operations workspaces (MCX). This new building spanning 7,494m2 GFA is also home to five levels of offices, function spaces, including an auditorium, a commercial tenancy, training facilities, and end-of-trip facilities. The project also includes a new car park for 240 vehicles.
2,664 sunshade fins in NEXTDC's striking red brand colour, make up the building's unique facade structure.
This project utilised BIM 360 modelling to coordinate the design, sequencing onsite, consultant design reviews and collaboration, and resolve clash issues.
Working in a live data centre centre facility, Kapitol's project team utilised vibration monitoring to ensure that sensitive equipment in adjoining buildings were not adversely impacted during construction.
The project was completed in Q2 2023.
